Charity Commission apology

On 8th September 2016 Paul Sussex CEO of the Charity Commission wrote to me saying “there were some errors in our handling of the application for registration …. Specifically, we did not consider your concerns when deciding whether or not to register the charity.”

This alone causes me to chuckle since a senior member of the church had exalted in the fact that the application had sailed through unchallenged and appeared to be citing that as justification for previous conduct.

What made this even more amusing was the comment by Ms Sussex that, “this was because a spelling error by the charity on their application form meant that no link was made between this organisation and the one you complained about”

In other words, the leaders here can’t spell the name of their own organisation! If their other failures weren’t so serious it could be the stuff of a joke!
